Procedure Writing - Tying Your Shoe Laces

Now that we are in Year Two, we thought it would be a great idea to learn how to tie our shoe laces! For our Big Write session this week, we wrote a procedure all about how to tie our shoe laces. Some of us brought in practise shoe toys and we even used our own shoes to practice, practice, practice.

After a lot of practice nearly everyone in our class can now tie their shoelaces!

We learnt that a procedure is a list of steps and materials that explains how to do something. After we learnt how to tie our shoe laces, we wrote a list of steps so that we will remember how to do it. All the steps must start with a doing word which are called verbs. We had so much fun learning how to tie our laces!
