NAIDOC Day Incursion

On Thursday the 4th of August our class participated in a NAIDOC Day Incursion. We had an Aboriginal Elder, called Mr T, come in to teach us all about Aboriginal Culture. We learnt that everything in the environment in connected so we must take care of it. We also learnt an important lesson about sharing within your friendship group or tribe. It was so much fun singing and dancing around to the tapping sticks and learning lots of Aboriginal words.

Thank you to all the fantastic parents for getting the money in on time. It was wonderful to see our whole class there and learning so much!

In class, we have been studying Aboriginal Culture and History too. We have read lots of Dream Time stories and looked at significant sites to aboriginal people such as Uluru and The Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains. Our class also did some fantastic dot paintings of our hands which are on our classroom door for everyone to see.
