Student Councillors
Congratulations to Phoebe and Harrison who have done an amazing
job throughout Semester One being Room 16's Student Councillors. You have made
all of us proud with the way you have represented our class and shared our

Spelling Lists
This term, you will notice that our spelling lists are made up of new Year 2 Phonics sounds and then a revision sound from the past terms. As a class we spoke about the need for continual practice of things and we thought it was a great idea to review past sounds!
Morning Work
Congratulations to all the incredible students in Room 16 for adapting so well to our new morning routine. It has been a pleasure to see you all coming in early and completing your weekly review sheets! I have been so impressed with how focused you have been and how quickly you are getting those sheets completed. Keep up the amazing work!
NAIDOC Day Incursion
As part of the Western Australian Curriculum, all students are learning about Aboriginal culture and history. To further develop their understanding, a NAIDOC Day incursion has been organised for Thursday next week. Please ensure your $5 and permission slips are back to school by Friday the 29th of July. No late money will be accepted and if you don't pay you won't be attending. It will be a wonderful hands on experience. Thank you.

Term 3 Overview
Welcome back to Term 3! It is hard to believe that we are already
half way through Year 2, but time sure does fly when you are having fun. I hope
you and your family has a great holiday and got a chance to do many fun things
together!
This term our class is going to have a
strong focus on values such as independence, responsibility, excellence and perseverance.
Each of these values teach vital life skills and lessons, which even as adults
we use each and every day. Values will be incorporated into the teaching of all
learning areas. I really encourage you to support your child in developing
these values by providing them with opportunities to demonstrate independence
and responsibility. Things such as packing their own bags for school, walking
to class independently or encouraging them to remember their library books and
homework files are simple, yet effective ways, to help instill these values.
Throughout Term 3, we also have many
exciting events to look forward to such as the NAIDOC Day Incursion and
Lapathon.
