News

This week our class's news roster started. As part of the Speaking and Listening Assessment, each term we have rostered days for the sharing of news and other information. Each child has been assigned to a group and a sharing day. Each week the children assigned to that day will need to share.

To add variety to the types of information we share, five different topics have been chosen and each group will have a turn at presenting each of the topics. For example in Week 1 the group on Monday will be telling news, then in Week 2 Monday’s group will be sharing a Book Report and in Week 3 Monday’s group will share a News Report and so on. The groups will rotate through the different tasks. The sharing day will always be the same but the topic that they share will change each week.

Aussie Day Dress Up

Thank you to everyone who dressed up for our school's Aussie Dress Up Day to raise some much needed funds for the victims of the Yarloop bush fires. You all looked amazing and your donations were greatly appreciated!

Old Socks

Our class came up with an amazing way to keep our mini whiteboards clean and tidy by using none other then..... SOCKS! If you have an odd sock that is missing its partner, has a hole in it or is simply too small these days please send it into class (washed please) so we can reuse them as mini whiteboard rubbers. Not only do we have clean whiteboards but we are also helping the environment by using old items for new things, therefore reducing the amount of rubbish. Pretty cool right!

Send in your old socks!

Parent Information Night

On Tuesday, 16th of February 2016 there will be a Parent Information Evening held in our class room from 5.30pm - 6.15pm.

This will provide parents with information regarding whole school policies, procedures and protocols in addition to information specific to Room 16. Topics covered will include, school priorities and beliefs, behaviour management practices, learning targets, homework expectations and assessment.

This will be an opportunity to meet other parents and ask any questions you may have.

I hope to see you there,
Mrs S

Welcome Message From Mrs S

Dear Parents,

It has truly been a fantastic start to Year Two. We have been extremely busy settling into brand new routines which we are continuing to master. The students have embraced all new learning tasks with such a positive attitude and are very keen to do their best. It has been an absolute pleasure to witness this and I know that we will have a great year together.

In our class we have a strong emphasis on Co-operative Learning and Collaborative Learning Teams. The students have really taken it on board and are enthusiastically engaging in their roles. These teams are really helping the students with keeping themselves organised, staying on task and allowing learning activities to run smoothly.

Throughout the year if you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to come and see me to discuss these. To have a successful year, we must work together to ensure the best possible outcomes for your child. I am extremely approachable, honest and very appreciative of parent feedback.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and for assisting to make the transition into Year Two a smooth one. I am looking forward to what the year has to bring. Kind regards,Mrs Caris Szczepanik
